San Diego Pedestrian Fatally Struck While Walking Bicycle in Clairemont Area

56 Year Old Motorist Strikes and Kills Pedestrian Walking Bicycle on Clairemont Dr.
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 15, 2025) — A 54-year-old pedestrian pushing a bicycle was struck and killed Sunday night in the Clairemont neighborhood of San Diego, authorities said.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 9:09 p.m. at the intersection of Clairemont Drive and Iroquois Avenue, according to the Police Department.
The Victim Was Killed Walking In The Crosswalk
Police said the victim was crossing in a marked crosswalk when they were hit by a light-colored Honda Civic sedan driven by a 56-year-old motorist. The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities said alcohol and drugs are not believed to have played a role in the crash.
The Police Department’s Traffic Division is leading the investigation.
