Toyota 4-Runner Flees Scene After Hitting Motorcycle in Birdland Area of San Diego, CA
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 9, 2023) – Late in the morning on Friday in San Diego, a hit-and-run driver struck and seriously injured a motorcyclist. The January 6 crash occurred in the neighborhood of Birdland, where Vista Hill Avenue and Meadow Lark Drive intersect.
The time was roughly 11:57 a.m., David O’Brien said. O’Brien is a watch commander with San Diego Police.
Reports say that according to authorities, a vehicle–described as a Toyota 4-Runner, black in color–had been heading north on Meadow Lark Drive.
Driver of The Toyota Turned In Front of the Motorcycle Rider Causing The Accident
The motorcycle was traveling on Meadow Lark Drive and heading south. The Toyota made a turn to the left, and the Toyota and the motorcycle collided. The person in the Toyota drove away from the crash site and did not remain to help the injured rider.
Responders transported the victim to a hospital in the area. The rider suffered injuries that were described as serious. The types of injuries have not been described, nor has the current condition of the patient.
The identity of the motorcyclist–including name, age, gender, and city of residence–has not been reported. Investigators are continuing their efforts to gather information and details regarding the crash. They are searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver, and the vehicle involved.
