San Diego, CA (January 4, 2024) — Tragedy struck on Tuesday evening as a 65-year-old man lost his life in a pedestrian accident at the intersection of Midway Drive and Sports Arena Boulevard.

According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, the unfortunate incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. The male pedestrian was reportedly in a south crosswalk on Sports Arena Boulevard, crossing Midway Drive for reasons unknown. In a devastating turn of events, a 62-year-old woman, driving a northbound 2013 Chevy truck, collided with the man in the left northbound lane, with the traffic light signaling green.
The Driver Did Stop and Cooperate With Authorities
Following the collision, the responsible driver promptly pulled over and awaited the arrival of authorities. Subsequent investigations by law enforcement ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor to the accident. Despite efforts to save him, the unidentified pedestrian succumbed to severe injuries sustained in the crash.
