San Diego Multi-Vehicle Crash Snarls Traffic on 805 Freeway

Morning Crash Causes Heavy Gridlock on I-805 Near SR 15
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 23, 2025) — A multi-vehicle collision caused significant delays for commuters on northbound Interstate 805 near the State Route 15 interchange Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 6:50 a.m. and involved at least three vehicles, including a white 2009 Honda Civic, a white sedan, and a blue sedan. Early reports indicate that one of the vehicles overturned, triggering an emergency response and temporarily blocking all lanes.
A Tow Truck Was Needed To Remove A Vehicle From The Center Divider
CHP logs show that one vehicle ended up in the center divider, while the Honda Civic required assistance from a tow truck to be repositioned and removed. First responders worked swiftly to clear the scene and move the involved vehicles to the right-hand shoulder.
Emergency crews from the fire department and CHP were dispatched to the area, along with paramedics as a precaution. No serious injuries have been reported at this time.
The Accident Created Major Traffic Congestion During Morning Rush Hour
One lane remained closed for a time as authorities managed traffic control and vehicle removal. Tow trucks from Advantage Towing assisted in clearing the wreckage.
The crash created major congestion during the morning rush hour, and motorists were advised to expect delays or consider alternate routes.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
