Woman Walking Across Pacific Coast Highway in San Diego Struck and Injured
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 2, 2019) – On Friday night, a pedestrian on Pacific Coast Highway in San Diego was seriously hurt after being hit by a vehicle. The June 28 incident occurred near the 4100 address of the highway, in the Midway District area.
The time was roughly 8:35 p.m., according to Robert Heims. Heims is an officer with the San Diego Police Department.
Reports say the pedestrian—identified as a woman 58 years old—had been walking across the highway in a diagonal direction when a vehicle, described as an SUV, hit her. The vehicle, described more fully as a Chevy Tahoe, struck the woman as she was in the lanes that head north.
Responders arrived and transported the woman to a hospital. Reports say she suffered broken legs. Her current condition is not known. Her identity, including her name and city of residence, has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle was identified only as a man 27 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported. Reports say police did not cite him in the incident.
