Thieves Stealing Woman’s iPhone Drag Her Beside Car in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 4, 2019) – On Tuesday night, thieves who were trying to steal a woman’s iPhone dragged her beside a car as they tried to flee in San Diego. The September 3 incident occurred on College Avenue in the 3600 block, in a parking lot of a 7-Eleven store.
The time was roughly 11:45 p.m.
Reports say a person who was in the car—identified only as a man—had asked to borrow the woman’s cell phone. The man tried to take the phone and leave with it, but the woman would not release it.
The vehicle dragged the woman, and she released her hold when another vehicle almost hit her. According to reports, the woman suffered injuries that were described as minor. Responders arrived and treated her.
The vehicle, which is reported to have contained three other people in addition to the man, has not been described. The man, and the three other occupants of the vehicle, have not been described.
Investigators are continuing to gather evidence related to the incident. They are searching for the vehicle and its occupants.
