SUV Crashes onto Carport in Scripps Ranch Neighborhood of San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 12, 2019) – Early in the morning on Tuesday, an SUV crashed in the Scripps Ranch neighborhood of San Diego, falling onto a carport and smashing two cars. The March 12 accident occurred on Carroll Canyon Road.
The time was roughly 1:00 a.m.
Reports say that people who live at Maya Linda Apartments heard the sounds of an engine and then a crash. A vehicle—described as a Chevy Tahoe—drove into a fence and through it. The vehicle then went airborne and fell onto the carport. Two cars, that had been parked below the carport, were crushed.
Respondents arrived and had to work to rescue the person who was the SUV’s driver. Respondents transported the driver to a hospital. The types of injuries he suffered have not been reported. His current condition is not known. The identity of the driver—including his name, age, and city of residence—has not been reported. It is not known if anyone else had been traveling as a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
