Suspect Hits Vehicles Parked in San Diego; Allegedly Threatens Witnesses
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 12, 2020) – A person who is suspected of smashing into parked vehicles in the Logan Heights area of San Diego is alleged to have threatened witnesses. The February 10 incident occurred on Irving Avenue close to South 28th Street.
The time was a little after 12:00 a.m., San Diego police said.
Reports say some people in the area of the crash heard a noise, and arrived at the scene to find that a vehicle had crashed into a number of other vehicles that had been parked. According to reports, some of the people tried to prevent the driver from leaving the scene, but the driver is alleged to have driven toward them.
The people avoided the vehicle coming toward them, and the vehicle drove away at a fast speed. The suspect is alleged to have struck another vehicle on Sicard Street as he was fleeing.
According to reports, the suspect came to a stop on Irving Street in the 2200 block, and witnesses could hear him yelling about a gun as he ran into a house.
Gunshots rang out, and witnesses ran from the scene, reports say.
Officers arrived on scene and the suspect was told to exit the house. Officers arrested him. The suspect faces multiple charges, reports say. The identity of the suspect has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work to collect information and evidence regarding the incident. None of the owners of the vehicles that were struck have been identified in reports.
