Pedestrian Struck and Killed on State Route 163 in San Diego’s Kearny Mesa
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 8, 2020) – Early in the morning on Tuesday, a pedestrian was struck and killed on State Route 163 in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego. The January 7 incident occurred on the northbound side of State Route 163, close to the off-ramp for Balboa Avenue.
The time was roughly 3:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say a vehicle—which has not been described—struck a pedestrian, but it is not clear from reports where the person had been walking.
Responders arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the incident site. The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
