Pedestrian Seriously Injured by Hit-and-run Driver in Logan Heights Area of San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 11, 2019) – Early in the morning on Friday, a person walking in the Logan Heights area of San Diego was struck by a hit-and-run driver, and suffered serious injuries. The October 11 incident occurred close to where South Bancroft Street and Ocean View Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly 5:45 a.m., according to Matt Botkin. Botkin is an officer with the San Diego Police.
Reports say the a person who witnessed the incident told authorities that the vehicle that is suspected of hitting the pedestrian was an SUV, dark in color. After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle left the incident site.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. According to Botkin, the victim suffered injuries that were described as serious. The types of injuries the man suffered, and his current condition, is not known.
The identity of the victim, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the driver and the vehicle involved in the incident. They are continuing to gather details, information, and evidence. A description of the suspected driver has not been reported.
