Pedestrian on I-5 in San Diego Struck by Multiple Vehicles; Person Dies
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 18, 2020) – A person who was walking on I-5 in San Diego on Sunday night was struck by multiple vehicles, and died. The March 15 incident occurred near Cesar E. Chavez Parkway, and to the north of it, on the southbound side of the freeway.
The time was roughly a little before 11:00 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say the person was struck by a vehicle and died. After the first crash, a number of other vehicles hit the person.
The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
None of the drivers involved in the incident have been identified. The vehicles have not been described.
Investigators are working to understand why the person was on the freeway. They are collecting details and information to understand the incident.
