Motorcyclist Dies in Chain-reaction Collision in San Diego’s Otay Mesa
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 19, 2021) – Early in the evening on Thursday in San Diego, a motorcyclist was killed in a chain-reaction collision. The March 18 incident occurred in Otay Mesa, on Otay Valley Road at Datsun Street.
The time was roughly a little after 6:00 p.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue said.
No details have been reported on how the crash occurred, how many vehicles were involved, and what sequence impacted each vehicle. Reports say the motorcyclist was trapped beneath a vehicle, but the vehicle has not been described.
That vehicle was stuck partway under another vehicle–described as a semi truck.
Responders pronounced the motorcyclist deceased at the incident site. The identity of the person–including name, age, gender, and city of residence–has not been reported.
None of the drivers involved in the crash have been identified. Reports do not say if there were passengers present in any of the vehicles, nor if there were other injuries.
Investigators are working to understand the crash by collecting information and details. They are currently in the process of this work.
