Motorcycle Collides with Truck on Camino Del Rio South in San Diego; Rider Injured
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 18, 2020) – On Thursday night in San Diego’s Grantville area, a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck, injuring the rider. The September 17 incident occurred on Camino Del Rio South in the 4000 block.
The time was roughly 7:20 p.m., according to Robert Heims. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.
Reports say people who witnessed the incident told authorities that the motorcycle–described as a Harley Davidson–was going at a speed that was not safe, and passing other vehicles in the two-way turn lane.
The motorcycle hit a pickup truck–described as a Ford F-150–in the back area of the truck’s bed.
Responders arrived and transported the motorcyclist to a hospital. He suffered injuries that included a broken ankle and foot, according to Heims.
The motorcyclist was identified only as 28 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver of the pickup truck has not been identified in reports. It is not known if the person was injured in the crash.
Investigators are continuing their work of gathering details and information.
