Motorcycle and SUV Collide on Wardlow Ave. in San Diego, Causing Injuries
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 14, 2020) – Late in the afternoon on Wednesday in San Diego, a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV caused injuries. The August 13 incident occurred near the intersection of Lawndale Street and Wardlow Avenue, in the Nestor area.
The time was roughly 5:05 p.m., according to Kevin Gibson. Gibson is a sergeant with San Diego Police.
A vehicle–described as a Toyota RAV4–had been traveling on Wardlow Avenue and heading east, reports say. The Toyota is reported to have made a turn to the left in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle collided with the SUV. The impact threw the rider from the bike.
Responders arrived and transported the rider to a hospital. He suffered an injury that was described as a broken leg. He was identified only as 26 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the Toyota stayed at the incident site and cooperated with investigators. She was identified only as 60 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported. It is not known from reports if the driver suffered injuries in the crash.
Investigators are working on collecting details and information regarding the incident.
