Man Killed When Truck Hits and Drags Him in Downtown San Diego; Driver Leaves Scene
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 29, 2020) – A man was killed early in the morning on Tuesday in San Diego when a truck hit and dragged him. The driver left the scene of the April 28 incident, which occurred where Eighth Avenue and B Street intersect in the area of Core-Columbia.
The time was roughly 4:35 a.m., according to Dino Delimitros. Delimitros is an officer with San Diego Police.
Reports say a vehicle–described as a flatbed, Ford-150 pickup truck–hit the victim and dragged him across a parking lot. According to Delimitros, the driver left the incident site. The suspect driver did not stop to help the victim.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital. He was described as perhaps in his thirties. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the pickup truck, which is black in color, and the driver, who has not been described.
