Man Crossing Orange Avenue in San Diego with Walker Struck by Vehicle
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 14, 2019) – Late in the afternoon on Wednesday, a man who was crossing the road in San Diego with a walker was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle. The November 13 incident occurred on Orange Avenue in the 4000 block.
The time was roughly 5:11 p.m., according to Officer J. Buttle. Buttle is with the San Diego Police.
Reports say the man was walking in the crosswalk at the intersection where Central Avenue is located, and a vehicle—described as a Mitsubishi Gallant—which had been traveling on Orange Avenue and heading west hit him.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. The injuries he suffered were described as life threatening. His current condition is not known.
He was identified only as 75 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
According to Buttle, the person driving the vehicle did not see the pedestrian, reports say. The driver was identified only as a woman 74 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their efforts to gather information and details regarding the accident.
