Hit-and-run Motorcycle Rider Injures Three People in San Diego Gaslamp District
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 29, 2019) – A hit-and-run motorcycle rider injured three people in the morning on Saturday in the Gaslamp District of San Diego. The January 26 accident occurred on F Street in the 400 block.
The time was roughly 7:15.
According to Robert Heims, who is an officer with the San Diego Police Department, the motorcyclist was riding a Harley Davidson Road King. He had a passenger with him, identified as a woman 32 years old. The motorcyclist was traveling west on F Street, and was doing a wheelie. His bike went out of control, and his passenger fell off. He hit two people who were on the corner of F Street and 4th Avenue.
Heims said that the motorcyclist fled on foot from the accident, and left his motorcycle where it crashed. The two people who were injured who were standing on the street corner were identified as a man 21 years old, and a woman 55 years old.
The man had a cut knee and an ankle that was fractured. The woman had an elbow that was fractured. The woman who had been a passenger on the bike said she was in pain. Respondents arrived on scene and took all three victims to the hospital. The identities of the three victims, including their names and cities of residence, have not yet been reported. Their current conditions are not known.
The identity of the motorcycle rider has not been reported, including his name, age, and city of residence. A description of him has also not been reported.
Investigators from the Traffic Division of the San Diego Police Department are looking into the details and evidence regarding the crash.
