Hit-and-run Driver Injures Man on I-805 in San Diego’s Normal Heights

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 1, 2019) – Early in the morning on Friday, a hit-and-run driver struck a man in San Diego’s Normal Heights. The November 1 incident occurred on Interstate 805 in the lanes that head south, close to I-8.

The time was roughly a little before 4:00 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Reports say a vehicle—described as a Lyft ride and carrying passengers—pulled to the side of the freeway upon seeing a person down on the ground. The people exited the vehicle and are reported to have pulled the victim out of the traffic lane to the roadside.

Responders arrived and took the victim to the hospital. The types of injuries the man suffered, and his current condition, are not known. His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

The identities of the Good Samaritans have not been reported.

Investigators are collecting information, details, and evidence to locate the suspected hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved.
