San Diego Crash Suspects Shoot at DoorDash Driver

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 7, 2020) – A person who was working as a delivery driver for DoorDash was shot at by suspects following a collision in San Diego, according to reports. The October 6 incident occurred in the Corridor area.

The time was roughly 4:00 a.m.

The delivery driver said he had been going to deliver an order, and in the vicinity of El Cajon Boulevard and 37th Street, his vehicle and another vehicle collided. According to reports, the delivery driver said the other driver left the scene, and the delivery driver pursued it to the vicinity of Meade Avenue and 37th Street.

Reports say that the other vehicle stopped, according to the delivery driver, and two people–identified only as men–exited. The two men are alleged to have fired at the delivery driver.

The shots did not hit the delivery driver, he is reported to have said, and he drove from the site and called 911 for help.

Officers saw the vehicle not long after the incident on 35th Street in the 4600 block, at an apartment building. Officers detained three people, identified only as a woman, who may have been the driver of the vehicle; and two other people, who were not described.

The identities of the people involved have not been reported. The vehicles involved in the crash have not been described.

Reports do not say if officers arrested anyone in connection with the crash and alleged gunfire. Investigators are continuing to work on gathering information related to the incident.
