San Diego Crash on Mira Mesa Blvd. Severely Injures Pedestrian
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 18, 2021) – On Wednesday night in San Diego, a pedestrian was struck and severely injured. The March 17 incident occurred on Mira Mesa Boulevard close to Greenfield Drive, and near the I-15 Freeway.
The time was roughly a little after 10:50 p.m., according to Robert Heims. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.
The pedestrian stepped into the road to cross the street, reports say, and a vehicle–described as a Toyota Corolla–which had been traveling west, struck her.
Responders transported the injured woman to the hospital. The injuries she suffered–which include a fractured pelvis and skull–were described as life threatening.
She was identified only as 45 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the incident site and cooperated with the investigation. She was identified only as 23 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are working to collect information and details pertaining to the incident to understand why it happened.
