Crash on India Street in San Diego’s Middletown Area Kills Pedestrian

SAN DIEGO, CA (December 3, 2019) – Early in the morning on Monday, a pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in the Middletown area of San Diego. The December 2 incident occurred on India Street in the 2800 block, close to where the northbound I-5 offramp is located.

The time was roughly 5:00 a.m., San Diego Police said.

Reports say the pedestrian was struck and suffered fatal injuries. Responders arrived and transported the man to a hospital. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital, according to Billy Hernandez. Hernandez is a public affairs officer with the San Diego Police Department.

The victim was identified as in his 30s. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

The person who was driving the vehicle involved in the incident remained at the scene. The identity of the driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. The vehicle involved has not been described.

Investigators are working to continue their efforts to gather details and information regarding the incident.
