SAN DIEGO, CA (July 8, 2018) – A crash in San Diego on the 5 Freeway at Old Town Avenue killed a motorcyclist Sunday afternoon.
The accident occurred roughly at 3:37 p.m., California Highway Patrol says, on the southbound side of the freeway.
According to CHP, a man who was riding a motorcycle attempted to pass other vehicles on the Old Town Avenue off-ramp. The motorcyclist overturned upon hitting a curb.
Reports say that several vehicles stopped near the scene of the accident to provide help to the injured motorcyclist.
Responders from the fire department arrived on scene to provide medical attention to the victim. The man suffered fatal injuries.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Investigators are looking into the details and information regarding the accident to determine what caused it.
