San Diego Crash in Miramar Area on Pomerado Road Seriously Injures Driver
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 5, 2021) – On Sunday afternoon in San Diego, two vehicles collided and seriously injured a driver. The April 4 incident occurred in the area of Miramar, close to where 9900 Pomerado Road is located.
The time was roughly 3:30 p.m., John Buttle said. Buttle is an officer with San Diego Police.
A vehicle–described as a Ford E350 box truck–had been heading west on Pomerado Road, reports say. Another vehicle–described as a Honda Accord–had been in the turn lane to go to Pomerado Road eastbound.
The Honda went into the intersection, and the box truck and the Honda collided. The box truck struck a signal light after the initial crash.
Responders arrived and found the person who had been driving the Honda was seriously hurt, with injuries that included collapsed lungs, broken ribs, and a cut arm, according to Buttle.
Responders transported the patient to the hospital. He was identified only as 52 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the box truck was reported uninjured in the crash. His identity has not been reported.
