San Diego Crash in East Village Area Seriously Injures Pedestrian
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 12, 2021) – Early on Saturday night in San Diego, a pedestrian was seriously injured when a vehicle struck him. The April 10 incident occurred in the East Village area, on Market Street close to 15th Street.
The time was roughly a little after 8:00 p.m., Robert Heims said. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.
The person was crossing Market Street, and a vehicle–described as a Ford F-250 pickup truck–hit him. The pedestrian fell down, and suffered injuries to his head that were described as serious, according to Heims.
Reports say his injuries are considered life threatening. He was identified only as 59 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who was driving the vehicle remained at the crash site and cooperated with investigators. He was identified only as 66 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand the details of the crash, and they are currently collecting information.
