Crash in San Diego’s Barrio Logan during Police Pursuit Damages Parked Vehicles
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 17, 2021) – Early in the morning on Monday in San Diego, a driver crashed during police pursuit, damaging parked vehicles. The March 15 crash occurred in Barrio Logan, on National Avenue in the 2200 block.
The time was roughly 3:00 a.m., according to San Diego Police.
The incident began when officers tried to stop and pull a person over for driving in an erratic manner, reports say, in the area of Bay Terraces. Officers attempted to make the stop on Skyline Drive close to Morse High School.
The person drove away at a fast speed, reports say, and officers pursued the vehicle–which was described as having eyelashes and a sticker with a lipstick image.
In Barrio Logan, the vehicle went out of the suspect driver’s control, and it smashed into three vehicles that were parked on the street. The vehicles that were struck have not been described.
The driver ran from the crash site. The suspect has not been described.
Officers detained a person who had been traveling as a passenger in the vehicle. It is not known if the passenger was hurt. The passenger has not been identified.
The owners of the vehicles that were struck have also not been identified.
Investigators are working to locate the suspect driver. They are collecting information about the incident.
