Collision Near Mission Bay Sends Car to Overturn into Tecolote Creek, Injuring Woman
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 5, 2021) – On Thursday night in San Diego, a woman was injured in a crash involving two vehicles, which sent her vehicle to overturn into a creek. The March 4 incident occurred on I-5, close to Mission Bay and close to the offramp for Sea World Drive.
The time was roughly 9:10 p.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue said.
Two vehicles collided, but the manner in which the collision occurred has not been described. The vehicles have also not been described.
One of the vehicles overturned, and went into Tecolote Creek.
Responders arrived and worked to extricate the woman who was in the wreckage of the overturned vehicle. They transported her to the hospital.
The injuries she suffered were described as life threatening. Her identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the other vehicle involved in the crash was not injured, according to reports. The person’s identity has not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand the circumstances and factors related to the crash to determine why it happened.
