Collision in San Diego Injures Motorcyclist in Bay Ho Neighborhood
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 27, 2018) – A collision Saturday night injured a motorcyclist in the San Diego neighborhood of Bay Ho. The November 24 accident occurred at the transition of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard into Regents Road, near Luna Avenue.
The time was roughly 7:18 p.m., John Buttle said. Buttle is an officer with the San Diego Police.
According to reports, the motorcyclist—identified as a 66-year-old man—had been stopped for a red light on Luna Avenue, in the westward direction. A driver—identified as a man 25 years old—had been on the intersection’s opposite side. The driver, in a vehicle described as a Ford Mustang, was waiting to make a left hand turn.
At the green light, the motorcyclist headed directly through the intersection. The driver of the Mustang executed a turn to the left and collided with the motorcycle.
Respondents transported the motorcyclist, who suffered injuries that were described as life threatening, to a hospital, according to Buttle. The name of the motorcyclist, and the types of injuries he suffered, have not yet been reported.
The name of the driver has also not yet been reported, nor if he suffered any injuries. Investigators are looking into the details of the accident.
