San Bernardino Rollover Crash on I-15 Leaves 11-Year-Old Girl Dead

11-Year-Old Apple Valley Girl Killed in Rollover Crash on 15 Freeway
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (July 6, 2025) – An 11-year-old girl from Apple Valley died Sunday evening in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 near Glen Helen Parkway, authorities confirmed.
The fatal collision occurred around 6:49 p.m. on July 6, 2025, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A White SUV Lost Control And Careened Into The Center Divider Rolling Over Into The Other Side
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a white Ford Expedition, traveling northbound, made a sudden maneuver to the left and struck the concrete center divider. The SUV overturned and came to rest upright in the southbound lanes of the freeway.
The Expedition was carrying six occupants at the time of the crash. The young girl, identified as Rhylin Ovalle, sustained life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. Five other passengers in the SUV suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A White Tesla and Black Maserati Were Also Involved
Two additional vehicles — a white Tesla Model 3 and a black Maserati Grecale — were also involved in the incident. No injuries were reported among those occupants.
CHP investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash. Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact Officer J. Gonzalez at the CHP San Bernardino Area office at (909) 383-4227.
