Vehicle Breaks Apart After Smashing into Tree in San Bernardino, Killing Two

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 14, 2020) – Early in the morning on Monday in San Bernardino, a vehicle smashed into a tree and broke into pieces, killing two people. The December 14 incident occurred where Tippecanoe Avenue and Rialto Avenue intersect.

The time was roughly 12:20 a.m., according to Sergeant Baughman, who is an officer with San Bernardino Police.

A vehicle–which has not been described–struck the tree, for reasons that are not known. Reports say the force of the collision looked like a factor in the vehicle breaking apart into pieces.

A large portion of the crushed vehicle was found by responders on a divider. Among the debris tossed over the road was the dashboard and steering wheel. The airbag has activated.

Responders found two people had died in the crash. The identities of the people, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence, have not been reported.

Investigators are working to understand why the vehicle crashed into the tree. At this time, no other details are known from reports.
