Two Young Boys and Man Killed in San Bernardino Crash Involving Suspected DUI Driver
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (November 30, 2020) – A crash on Friday in San Bernardino, involving a driver suspected of DUI, killed two boys. The two children, who were 2 years old and 4 years old, died in the hospital following the November 27 collision.
The time was roughly 11:45 p.m., San Bernardino Police said.
Reports say a vehicle–described as a Ford Mustang–was going at a fast speed and went through a light that was red. The Ford collided with a vehicle, described as a Toyota Camry.
The two boys had been traveling inside the Toyota. The Toyota’s driver was also killed in the crash.
He was identified only as a resident of Bakersfield, 31 years old. His name has not been reported. His relationship to the children has also not been reported.
Two other children had also been inside the Toyota. The two surviving children were badly injured in the crash.
One of the children suffered injuries that were described as severe. The other suffered injuries that were described as moderate. Their ages and gender have not been reported.
Police arrested the person who had been driving the Mustang on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter. He was identified as Brandon Jaquez-Perez, a resident of Bloomington, 23 years old. Authorities suspect speed and alcohol played a role in the crash.
Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
