Father and Two Children Identified as Victims in San Bernardino Crash
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 1, 2020) – Tavea Tarlton, 2-year-old Farrow, and 4-year-old Eliza were identified as the father and two children who were struck and killed in San Bernardino by a suspected drunk driver. Tarlton’s two youngest children died the day after the crash from their injuries.
Tarlton’s two other children who had also been traveling in the vehicle were injured–one moderately, and one severely–and are being treated. They were identified as Dallas, 8 years old; and Khamyil, 5 years old.
At roughly 11:45 p.m. on November 27, Tarlton had been driving a Toyota Camry and a vehicle–described as a Ford Mustang–struck his car where University Parkway and Kendall Drive intersect. Reports say that according to police, the Ford went through a light that was red at a fast speed, and struck the Toyota broadside.
The Toyota erupted in flames. People who witnessed the crash pulled the children out of the burning wreckage, but were unable to extricate Tarlton.
Tarlton died at the crash site. He was a resident of Bakersfield, 31 years old.
Authorities arrested the driver of the Ford on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI. He was identified as Brandon Jaquez-Perez, a resident of Bloomington, 23 years old.
Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
