San Bernardino Suspected DUI Crash Near Second and G Streets Kills Pedestrian
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 29, 2020) – On Sunday evening in San Bernardino, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver who is suspected of DUI. The December 27 incident occurred where G Street and Second Street intersect.
The time was roughly 7:45 p.m., San Bernardino Police said.
The victim had been walking across the intersection within a crosswalk that is marked, reports say. A vehicle–described as a Saturn Acura–is suspected to have been going at a fast speed when it struck the victim.
The driver did not stop, but left the crash site.
Responders arrived to help, but the pedestrian died at the incident site. He was identified only as 42 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Officers located the suspect driver. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and hit-and-run causing injury or death.
The suspect driver was identified as Ronald Harris, 30 years old.
Investigators are continuing the work of gathering information and details to understand the incident.
