San Bernardino Hit-and-run Crash on Lynwood Drive Kills Pedestrian
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (January 15, 2021) – On Wednesday night in San Bernardino, a pedestrian died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver. The January 14 incident occurred on Lynwood Drive close to Golden Avenue.
The time was roughly 9:25 p.m., San Bernardino Police said.
According to reports, video recorded by a surveillance camera captured a vehicle–described as a Nissan Frontier truck with a single cab, white in color–traveling on Lynwood. The eastbound truck was moving at a fast speed, reports say, and hit the pedestrian.
The person driving the truck did not stop at the crash site and help the victim. The driver fled the scene.
Responders arrived to help, but the person died at the crash site. He was identified as 39 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the truck involved in the crash, and the suspect driver, who has not been described.
