Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Newport Beach Hit-and-Run, Jurupa Valley Woman Arrested
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (April 24, 2025) — A 21-year-old woman from Jurupa Valley has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian seriously injured in Newport Beach last week, authorities announced.
Samantha Sandoval was taken into custody on Tuesday and booked at the Newport Beach Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in injury.

According to Newport Beach police, the incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. on April 24 at the intersection of 22nd Street and Newport Boulevard. A vehicle struck a pedestrian and fled the scene without stopping to render aid, said NBPD Sgt. Steve Oberon.
Paramedics transported the injured pedestrian to a local trauma center for treatment of major, but undisclosed, injuries. The victim’s identity has not been released.
Newport Beach Police Located Sandoval’s Car in Fontana
The Newport Beach Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team launched an extensive investigation spanning multiple counties. On Saturday, detectives located the suspect vehicle in the city of Fontana and had it towed back to Newport Beach for further examination.
By Tuesday, investigators had identified and arrested Sandoval.
