Driver Smashes into Rowland Heights House on Blakeman Ave; Flees with Passenger
ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA (April 20, 2020) – Early in the morning on Saturday in Rowland Heights, a driver smashed into a house and crashed through. He fled the scene of the April 18 incident on foot with the passenger; the incident was recorded by a doorbell camera and captured on video.
The time was roughly 4:40 a.m., Sergeant J. Kawanaka said. Kawanaka is with the Sana Fe Springs-area office of the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say a vehicle–described as a Toyota Camry–had been traveling on Blakeman Avenue and heading north. In an area near Pen Street, the car went off the road, went into the air, and smashed through a house located on Blakeman Avenue in the 2000 block.
The two occupants of the vehicle–the driver and passenger–fled the scene on foot. The two people were identified only as male. Their names, ages, and cities of residence have not been reported.
The residents of the house were home when the car struck. According to reports, the family was not hurt in the crash.
Reports say the doorbell camera recorded the incident on video; it seemed to show that the driver was making donut maneuvers in the street before the vehicle went out of his control.
Investigators are working to collect information and details. They are searching for the driver and the passenger.
