Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash Near Jurupa Ave. in Riverside
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 16, 2021) – On Monday night, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian in Riverside. The February 15 incident occurred close to where Florence Street and Jurupa Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly 7:45 p.m., Riverside Police said.
According to witnesses, reports say, a vehicle–described as a Subaru Impreza, silver in color–had been traveling on Jurupa Avenue and going west. Reports says the pedestrian is alleged to have been standing and lying in the roadway on Jurupa Avenue, in the path of traffic.
The pedestrian was hit by the Subaru. The driver left the scene and did not stop to help the victim.
Responders arrived and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the crash site. His name and age have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved, and the suspect driver, who has not been described. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can contact Detective J. Derouin. The number is 951-826-8722.
