Man Identified as Driver Who Died in Riverside Crash with Big Rig
RIVERSIDE, CA (May 7, 2019) – Jonathan Garcia was identified by officials from the Riverside County Coroner’s office and Riverside Police as the victim who was killed in a collision with a big rig in Riverside last week. The May 1 accident occurred close to where Arfon Way and Buena Vista Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly 11:50 p.m.
Reports said that Garcia had been driving a pickup truck, described as a Chevrolet. His vehicle, which according to police had been traveling at a high speed, smashed into the rear of a Freightliner truck. The impact of the crash threw him from his vehicle.
Garcia died at the accident site. He was 33 years old and a resident of Riverside.
The person who had been driving the big rig stayed at the site and cooperated with the investigation. The identity of the big rig driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. Reports do not say if the driver of the big rig suffered any injury.
