Driver Suffering Medical Emergency Collides with Vehicle in Riverside
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 1, 2019) – A driver who was suffering from a medical emergency on Saturday night in Riverside collided with another vehicle. The March 30 accident occurred on Van Buren Boulevard near Arlington Avenue.
The time was roughly 8:45 p.m., according to the Riverside Police Department.
Reports say that a person who had been driving a pickup truck—described as a Dodge, white in color—had been heading southbound on Van Buren Boulevard. The driver began to suffer from a medical emergency. Police said that the pickup, moving at a high speed, went into the intersection. It ran through a light that was red and crashed into another vehicle—described as a Ford Focus. The Ford had been heading westbound on Arlington.
Respondents arrived and pronounced the driver of the pickup deceased at the accident site. The identity of the driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. It is not known was type of medical emergency the driver suffered.
Respondents took victims who were hurt in the collision to local hospitals. It is not known from reports how many people were hurt.
