Riverside Crash at Colorado Ave. Kills Bicyclist; Hit-and-run Driver Sought

RIVERSIDE, CA (January 8, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash in Riverside early in the morning on ‘Thursday killed a bicyclist. The January 7 incident occurred close to where Colorado Avenue and Jackson Street intersect, and close to an elementary school.

The time was roughly 6:30 a.m., Riverside Police said.

The bicyclist had been traveling southbound in a bike lane, reports say, and then he went into a regular traffic lane. A vehicle that was going by struck him.

The vehicle momentarily slowed after the collision, reports say, but the driver did not stop to help. The person driving the vehicle fled the crash site.

Responders transported the injured bicyclist to the hospital where he died. His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the driver who is suspected of hit-and-run. The driver has not been described.
