Rialto Three-vehicle Crash Kills Driver of Suspected Stolen Vehicle
RIALTO, CA (October 20, 2020) – Late in the afternoon on Saturday in Rialto, a collision involving three vehicles killed a driver who was suspected of stealing one of the vehicles. The October 17 incident occurred close to where Sycamore Avenue and Baseline Road intersect.
The time was roughly 5:35 p.m., according to Rialto Police.
A vehicle–described as an Acura Integra–is alleged to have been stolen on West Baseline Road in the 400 block where a laundromat is located. The suspect drove the vehicle away, and crashed minutes later, roughly 2 miles from the site of the alleged theft.
No details have been reported on the circumstances related to the crash, and the two other vehicles involved have not been described.
Responders arrived and found the person who had been driving the Acura was seriously injured. They transported the patient to the hospital, where he later died.
The suspect driver was identified as Eduardo Sandoval, a resident of San Bernardino, 35 years old.
The people who had been driving the other two vehicles that crashed have not been identified, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence.
They are reported to have suffered injuries that were described as minor. Responders transported them to a hospital in the area. The current condition of the patients is not known.
The owner of the suspected stolen vehicle has not been identified. Investigators are working to understand the circumstances of the incident.
