Hit-and-run Driver Suspected of DUI Kills Pedestrian on Hart Street in Reseda

RESEDA, CA (March 3, 2020) –  A pedestrian was struck and killed on Monday night in Reseda by a hit-and-run driver suspected of DUI. The March 2 incident occurred on Hart Street close to Tampa Avenue.

The time was roughly 6:55 p.m., according to Tony Im. Im is an officer with Los Angeles Police.

According to Debra Brownstein, who is a lieutenant with the Valley Traffic Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, a woman was walking across Tampa Street and a vehicle, which had been traveling north, hit her.

The driver did not remain at the scene. According to Brownstein, bystanders stopped to driver some distance from the incident site.

Responders arrived and transported the victim to the hospital, where she died. She was identified only as in her thirties. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.

The driver was taken into custody by officers. He is suspected of hit-and-run, and driving under the influence. His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Investigators are working to gather details and information regarding the incident.
