Disabled Car On Bear Valley Road Struck By DUI Driver, Critically Injuring Man
APPLE VALLEY, CA (December 16, 2024) — A man was critically injured after Rebecca Black, a suspected DUI Driver, crashed into him on Bear Valley Road near Deep Creek Road, prompting an emergency response and arrest on Sunday evening.
According to reports, 29-year-old Rebecca Black was driving a blue Hyundai Elantra when she collided with a stalled Chrysler 300 that was stopped in the middle turn lane. The crash occurred as Jessica William’s husband, who was working at the trunk jumpstarting the vehicle with cables, was struck during the impact.
Victim Needed Leg Amputated and Suffered A Broken Spinal Cord and Other Serious Trauma
The Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded to the scene and airlifted the critically injured man to a nearby trauma center. Authorities reported that he sustained severe injuries, including an amputated leg, a broken spinal cord, and other serious trauma. He remains hospitalized and is awaiting surgery.
Following the collision, police determined that Rebecca Black was under the influence at the time of the crash. She was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center on DUI charges.
