Poway Crash involving Sheriff’s Deputy Injures Two Children

POWAY, CA (November 12, 2021) – Late in the afternoon on Thursday in Poway, a crash involving a San Diego County Sheriff’s deputy injured two children. The November 11 crash occurred where Community Road and Poway Road intersect.
The time was roughly a little before 3:30 p.m., according to authorities.
A vehicle–described as a Nissan Rogue–and a sheriff’s vehicle collided, for reasons that are not known. The manner in which the crash occurred has not been described.
Responders arrived and found six occupants in the Nissan–described as a woman who was the driver, and five children, all of whom are younger than 10 years old.
Responders transported two children to Rady Children’s Hospital. The children suffered injuries that were described as not life threatening. Their current condition is not known.
The woman who was driving the Nissan was identified only as 28 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The identity of the sheriff’s deputy has also not been reported.
Reports do not say if anyone else was hurt in the crash.
Investigators are continuing to work on the incident.
