Poway Crash on State Route 67 Kills Horse, Dog; Injures Two People
POWAY, CA (December 9, 2020) – Early in the afternoon on Tuesday in Poway, a big rig and a vehicle towing a trailer with livestock collided, killing two animals and injuring two people. The December 8 incident occurred on State Route 67 close to Poway Road.
The time was a little after 1:00 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
No details have been reported on how the two vehicles collided.
Responders arrived and found a dog and a horse had been killed in the crash. Responders transported two people to the hospital.
The types of injuries the people suffered, and their current condition, are not known. The identities of the two patients, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence, have not been reported.
The driver of each vehicle has not been identified. Reports say leaking fuel that occurred after the crash required hazardous materials cleanup.
