Boy Identified as 6-year-old Killed in Head-on Crash in Pomona

POMONA, CA (May 9, 2019) – Julian Anthony George was identified by authorities as the 6-year-old victim who was killed in a head-on crash on Tuesday evening in Pomona. The May 7 incident occurred near the Fairplex, on White Avenue, in an area between McKinley Avenue and Arrow Highway.

According to Sarah Ardalani, who is a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, George died at the site of the crash at 6:24 p.m.

Reports say George had been seated in the back seat of a pickup truck. According to the Pomona Police Department, an SUV crossed over the center line into the lane of traffic moving in the opposite direction, and collided with the pickup truck.

Paramedics who arrived on scene pronounced the boy deceased at the accident site. The driver of each vehicle, and another victim, were hurt in the collision. The condition of the person who had been driving the pickup was described as serious. No details have been reported on the condition of the other two victims.

Reports say police suspect driving under the influence of alcohol was a factor. The identities of each driver have not been reported.
