Pickup Truck Crashes into House, Injuring 2 Children, 2 Adults in Fallbrook, CA
FALLBROOK, CA (July 19, 2022) – Early in the morning on Sunday in Fallbrook, a pickup truck crashed into a house, injuring two children inside the house and two adults in the vehicle.
The July 17 crash occurred on Winter Haven Road in the 1300 block.
The time was roughly 2:40 a.m., Hunter Gerber said. Gerber is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle–described as a Toyota Tacoma–went off the roadway and crashed into the house, reports say.
Two children who were inside the house suffered injuries that were described as minor. Their family has not been identified in reports.
Responders transported the 5 year old and the 9 year old to Rady Children’s Hospital.
Responders took two people who were traveling in the vehicle to Palomar Medical Center.
Both patients suffered injuries that were described as major and life threatening.
The passenger was identified only as 20 years old. The person’s name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver was identified as Luis Fernando Thomas, a resident of Fallbrook, 19 years old. He was arrested on charges that include felony DUI, according to Gerber.
The owners of the house have not been identified.
Investigators are continuing their work. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can call the Oceanside area office of the California Highway Patrol.
