San Diego Pedestrian Injured in Pacific Beach Hit-and-run Crash
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 3, 2022) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego, a hit-and-run driver injured a pedestrian. The May 3 crash occurred on Garnet Avenue in the 2700 block.
The time was roughly 12:30 a.m., according to John Buttle. Buttle is an officer with San Diego Police.
No details have been reported on how the crash happened. The driver fled the crash site without helping the victim or calling for help.
According to authorities, the vehicle was dark red in color, and had rally sport rims; the make and model have not been described.
Responders arrived and found the victim seated on the median in the center of the road. They transported him to the hospital.
The injuries he suffered included a leg that was broken.
He was identified only as 56 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect driver, who has not been described.
