Man Struck and Killed in Pasadena by Driver Suspected of DUI and Hit-and-run
PASADENA, CA (October 7, 2019) – Anthony K. Miller was struck and killed early in the morning on Sunday in Pasadena by a driver suspected of DUI and hit-and-run. The October 6 incident occurred in the vicinity of the intersection of Madison Avenue and Colorado Boulevard.
The time was roughly 3:15 a.m., according to Peter Hettema. Hettema is a lieutenant with the Pasadena Police.
Reports say Miller had been waking across the street and a vehicle—described as a pickup truck, gray in color—struck him. The person who had been driving the vehicle did not stop to help the victim, but fled the incident site.
Responders arrived and pronounced Miller deceased at the site of the collision, according to Larry Dietz. Dietz is a lieutenant with the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Miller was 31 years old. His city of residence is not known.
According to authorities, officers located the pickup truck roughly four blocks from the incident site, in a parking structure. Officers contacted the owner of the truck, who met them where the truck was.
Officers arrested the owner of the truck—who was identified as Higinio Arceo, 41 years old—on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, driving without a license, and driving under the influence.
Investigators are continuing their work to gather information, details, and evidence regarding the incident.
