Two People Killed in Parlier Crash
PARLIER, CA (March 13, 2019) – Miriam Hernandez Palomares and James Steele, Jr. were identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as the two people who were killed in a crash Monday night. The March 11 accident, involving two vehicles, occurred near the town of Parlier, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The time was roughly 8:30 p.m.
According to Victor Taylor, who is a spokesperson with the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened on Mendocino Avenue, to the south of Manning Avenue by roughly a mile and a half. Reports say that a vehicle—described as a Dodge 3500, and driven by a man—was heading north and it collided with another vehicle—described as a Dodge Caravan—that was heading south. The Dodge Caravan had been driven by a woman.
Taylor said that each of the drivers were the sole occupant of the vehicles at the time of the crash. Authorities believed each victim was killed on the impact of the crash.
The victims were later identified as Palomares, who was 28 years old, and Steele, who was 57 years old. Their cities of residence have not been reported.
No details have been reported on what caused the collision. Investigators are examining the information and evidence to understand the sequence of events that led to the crash.
