Head-on Collision on Pearblossom Highway in Palmdale Kills Three, Injures One

PALMDALE, CA (July 24, 2019) – A head-on collision in the morning on Tuesday in Palmdale killed three people and injured one person. The July 23 incident occurred on Pearblossom Highway, in an area between 60th Street East and 70th Street East.

The time was roughly 7:00 a.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

Reports say a vehicle—described as a Nissan truck—had been traveling on Pearblossom Highway and heading south. For reasons that are not known, the Nissan went into the lane of opposing traffic.

A big rig was traveling north, and the Nissan collided with it. The force of the head-on crash caused the cabin of the big rig to erupt in flames, burning the front of the truck.

Responders arrived and found that two people—both identified as men—who had been traveling in the Nissan died at the accident site. Responders transported a third victim—also a man—to a hospital in the area. He died from his injuries in the hospital.

The identities of the three men, including their names, ages, and cities of residence, have not been reported. It is not known who the driver was, and who were the passengers.

Responders transported the person who had been driving the big rig to a hospital. The types of injuries the victim suffered were described as minor. The identity of the driver, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
